CSCOB’s Selection Procedure

  1. CSCOB sends via email or post this course prospectus which has current information on   RPL/CT, qualifications offered, course costs and commencement dates available.
  1. Prior to the commencement of any training course conducted by CSCOB, an application session is held for applicants.  The purpose of this session is to ensure that all training and assessment information is provided prior to the commencement of the course which will include RPL/CT and any special needs. This will give the applicant time to ensure they are making an informed decision before enrolment into CSCOB

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING /
RECOGNITION OF CURRENT COMPETENCIES

Cosmetician Studio College of Beauty recognises and accepts the credentials issued by another registered training organisation based in any State/ Territory of Australia. This can include a Statement of Attainment for specific modules or units of competency, or it may be a complete qualification such as a Certificate or Diploma.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) is available upon request.


UNIFORM AND GROOMING STANDARDS

Presentation is extremely important in this industry and students are required to be professionally groomed at all times and must,

  • Wear the college uniform at all times

  • Wear enclosed flat rubber soled shoes

  • Be professionally groomed

The College is proud to be accredited with the first beauty therapy association in Australia the “ The Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia” APAA.

This Industry Accreditation, combined with Government accreditation and Austudy approval, ensures that you will receive the highest quality education.

As an APAA Accredited College we encourage our Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and Diploma of Beauty Therapy students to become student members of the Association hence, making them eligible to be nominated for the “National Student of the Year Award”.

The APAA has established a partnership with the University of New England , and has created numerous opportunities in Distance Education to further your career, with an accredited University Degree.

As members of the APAA upon Graduation graduates of The Diploma of Beauty Therapy course, are able to study for the university degree in Health Science .

WRB50105– Diploma of Beauty Therapy

The Diploma of Beauty Therapy is a nationally recognised vocational qualification developed as part of the national Beauty Industry Training Package and is the highest nationally recognised vocational qualification attainable in beauty therapy in Australia

Focuses are on planning and initiation skills across a broad range of technical and/or managerial requirements, evaluation and co-ordination. Ability to select equipment, services and techniques for self and others is developed. Responsibility and co-ordination for individuals and teams and autonomy must be achieved for complex applications.

There are three options for this course,

•  Five days per week for twelve months
•  Three days per week ( Monday to Wednesday) for sixteen months
•  Two nights a week (Monday and Tuesday) for two years

The Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy has been designed to develop the first line management skills of those working in the Beauty Industry.

It applies to those who are co-ordinating or managing the services within a small beauty salon, or a section or department within a larger store. It incorporates self-directed application of knowledge and skills.

Upon successful completion of the Certificate III in Hairdressing you will be able to apply for a position in a hairdressing salon as a qualified hairdresser / make-up artist

Skills and knowledge to work as a highly skilled hairdressing practitioner, providing technical leadership and/ or training other hairdressers and specialised, complex services/treatments to clients will be gained.

The certificate III in hairdressing has been designed as the standard entry level qualification for the hairdressing industry. Likely functions in the hairdressing industry for those who achieve this qualification are employment as a hairdresser working as part of a team in a salon, performing processes that require a range of well developed skills where discretion and judgment is required with responsibility for own outputs and responsibility for the supervision of others including apprentices.
